The Kick-Off Meeting of the EC-NET project, a Network of Towns funded by the Europe for Citizens 2014-2020 program, took place on 14 and 15 December 2020.
Due to the restrictions for COVID-19 it was not made in person, but online, via the ZOOM platform.
Hosted by the Italian lead partner, Fattoria Pugliese Diffusa APS, in cooperation with the Municipalities of Ruffano and Melissano, the event saw the participation of about 30 representatives of the 10 project partners from Italy, Spain, Bulgaria, Slovenia, Croatia, Poland, France, Albania and Portugal. On the first day, the representatives of each Organization/Municipality presented his/her institution and its activities, thus contributing to provide a complete picture of the communities involved in the implementation of the EC-NET project.
On the second day, the coordinators, after a short welcome speech of Ms Angela Bruno, local assessor of the Municipality of Ruffano, Evangelista Leuzzi and Gosia Wochowska presented, to the general public, the project (local and international activities, target groups, objectives and expected results, the communication campaign) and the program "Europe for Citizens 2014-2020 ”, also providing information on the future of the program itself, for the period 2021-2027.
Subsequently, in the Coordination Meeting, the coordinators shared with the partners all the information concerning the administrative and financial management of the project(Cooperation Agreement), the specific roles and tasks of each entity, the methods to be adopted for carrying out the local activities, the time schedule and the reporting process.
With this first official step, the EC-NET project is also officially launched through its Facebook page @EuropeanCitizenshipNET and the forthcoming website www.europeforcitizense.wixsite.com/ecnet, where it will be possible to find information on the next activities and events.
